New Mexico has eight public, four-year institutions: Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with four satellite campuses elsewhere in the state, and Western New Mexico University in Silver City.
