Basket weaving is one of the oldest known Native-American crafts, with some artifacts dating back 8,000 years. The development of basketry and pottery was a major benchmark towards the evolution of agrarian culture in the South West, and are replete with symbolic decorations and iconography, merging the spiritual with the pragmatic.
