Deseño del logotipo del centenario
The NM Centennial Steering Committee presented a contest to students at the Art Center Design College in Albuquerque to submit designs for the NM Centennial Logo. Several designs were created by the students, and the committee selected the work of Ryan Rodriguez.
A 2009 graduate of The Art Center Design College in Albuquerque, Ryan was one of several students at the College who responded to an assignment to design a logo for New Mexico’s Centennial of statehood. His design was chosen among several that were submitted by these talented art students. Ryan drew inspiration from common images to New Mexico: Albuquerque’s Old Town, pottery designs both traditional and contemporary, as well as other iconographic images that are common in our daily culture.
“The shape of the pot felt very ‘New Mexico’ to me,” Ryan says, and seemed to convey a “timelessness that reaches back into history and out towards the future at the same time, much as the commemoration of New Mexico’s Centennial will be doing.”
Having gifted New Mexico with his formidable artistic talents through this fetching logo design, Ryan will be working with a local design firm in Albuquerque, and we hope he will be on hand for many of the Centennial commemorations to come.
