Planning for the NM Centennial has been ongoing since the early part of this century.
Early 2000s
- Planning meetings and initiatives; Steering Committee formed
2008
- Executive Order by Governor Richardson establishes NM Centennial Task Force
2009
- Centennial Office established and Centennial Coordinator hired
- Centennial Logo launched
- Bilingual Centennial website launched
- Planning summit held with Arizona in May, 2009. Arizona’s Centennial is also in 2012
- Community Leadership Meeting held in June, 2009
- 14 initial projects funded
- Community Outreach and Awareness launched
- Project Planning Forms received from state agencies and community organization for inclusion in Master Plan
- Centennial License Plate announced in August, 2009
2010
- NM Centennial Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization, to be formed
- Fundraising campaigns begin
- Media, PR, and Web 2.0 Campaigns launch
- Centennial Signature Projects launch
